Our award winning band Ukular Attack spent today enjoying their well deserved prize from the School of Rock, a recording session at Jets studios in Bunroora. They recorded five songs and were pros. A very exciting and educational day for our talented musicians.
A huge thanks to the awesome team at Jets and to Paul for the great work he does with our musicians. We look foward to hearing the final result.

CPS Concert: Here / There Project
The Here/There Project was a huge success. The story and characters were all created by the children with assistance from the shows director and professional puppet maker. There was a lot of school community assistance with voices and music for the soundtrack, and help with the puppet making.A gigantic thank you to everyone that helped, and also to everyone for coming to see the childrens hard work come to fruition.
We hope you enjoyed it.

School of Rock 2012
Yesterday our school participated in the regional 'School of Rock'. It is a great opportunity for our musicians to get to perform on a big stage with lights, a great sound system and a big crowd. It not only shows off our schools talented musicians, it also gives our students the chance to see other schools in action. This year our Ukulele and Percussion bands had the opportunity to go. They both put on a stellar performance which the audience really enjoyed. Our Ukulele players even got a special mention fron the MC as one of his four standout musicians.
Term Two School Concert
A concert was put on last week which gave some of our many Instrumental Programme students an opportunity to perform. This time around it was some of our Junior School musicians, beginners through to those that have been playing for a couple of years. They all did a fantastic job. We also got treated to all of our performance bands showing us how talented they all are. Everyone had a great time. We are very proud of our music programme here at Coburg Primary.
Introducing: Percussion Band
Introducing the Coburg Primary School Percussion Band. This band was introduced to the schools bands in 2011 and always puts on a fantastic performance.
This year we have Oliver, Leo, Marwa, Sienna, Utku, Abby, Zayden, Esin, Gus and Yasemyn rocking us with some tribal beats.

The Here/There Project
Progress report:
The Here/There project is going very well! Nearly every
class has had a go at designing and beginning making their puppets for our
performance in August. The prep/1s have made beautiful body part puppets, the
1/2 s have created shadow puppets of people, animals and vehicles, the 3/4s
have begun making rod people puppets, the 5/6s are making aliens, people
disguised as aliens and special effect body puppets...Yes, there is an alien
theme developing! Thanks heaps to our parent helpers, you make the process much
easier, so keep it up! Also thanks to the teachers and staff for assisting the
project, we really appreciate it.
We need boxes! Please if you have large boxes (from fruit
boxes to fridge boxes!) Please bring them in to either the office on the senior
side or the hall on the junior side in the next two weeks.
Thanks for everyone's enthusiasm, the kids have been
overflowing with creative ideas and excitement! Katrine and Trina
