CPS Garden Programme

The key focus of the Cooking Garden Program is for students to learn how to grow food, prepare meals and enjoy fresh garden produce together as a school community.
Our lessons are centred on the life cycle, beginning with cultivation and how to harvest the vegetables growing in the garden right next to our senior grounds. This learning then extends to the kitchen, where children learn to understand recipes, practice essential cooking techniques, prepare meals and finally eat their creations from the produce they have harvested.
Another aspect of the program is our commitment to a greener environment. Students are engaged in activities relating to the importance of recycling, composting and being energy efficient.
For continued success we welcome parent helpers and/or small donations to cover the cost of ingredients and kitchen equipment. If you are able to assist please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

MIKO

Miko is a beautiful baby orangutang that has been adopted by our school. The money was raised by our Junior School Council by holding a dress-up day. Little Miko is developing well and has made a special friend.
